2 years ago Negative experience: Es una escuela para EUROPEOS!! es muy notoria la distinción que se les hace a los latinoamericanos, lo único rescatable de esa escuela es: el profesor chriss y leonardo (excelentes profesores), por otro lado personas como nerea recurren a prácticas cómo ignorar a los alumnos y solo cumplir con lo que se debe de ver en el día sin en realidad consentrarse en si alguien no entendió algo, la rotacion de maestros es muy constante. Las dinámicas son pobres y con poca creatividad, lamentable para una de las escuelas mas caras de cork. Si tienes planeado estudiar y trabajar olvidate de ir a sus eventos, literalmente todos son por la tarde y tampoco les interesa buscar algo con un horario cómodo para latinoamericanos. Sinceramente me arrepiento mucho de haber pagado por ese curso.

I’m sorry that have found it necessary to leave this review. Your review is quite surprising for many reasons and rather contradictory. Reviewing your feedback forms you did not flag any issues during your course, and in fact gave all your teachers - including Nerea - 5 stars, our of a possible 5 (5 being excellent). Had something been amiss in class our highly trained, kind and considerate teachers would have tried their very best to accommodate your individual needs. In addition, there was opportunity to talk to staff in the office. This help was never sought.
Your review was particularly unfair to one teacher, Nerea – a highly capable. very respected and loved professional who you singled out for brutal criticism, but - as mentioned - you reported you were very happy with her during your stay. You also mentioned that we had a “turnover” of staff despite the fact that there were no new teachers who were hired during your stay. Your teachers’ reports mention that you “adjusted well to new challenges”, were “lovely to have in class” and “could move up” - all very encouraging. Additionally, your stance that this school is for “Europeans only” is quite a false description – as our many South American students can attest to. Our schedule is very accommodating for Visa students, offering 15 hour/ 20 hour morning courses, or 15 hour afternoon classes in a way to accommodate part-time (max 20 hour) work possibilities. This is the maximum flexibility the schools are allowed to give, owing to strict visa guidelines. You in fact, as per the immigrations rules and regulations, did not take the examination, even though it is a requirement on your part to extend your stay and you had been registered by ACET to take the PET exam on the 11 March, 2023.
It is important for us to tell you all of this as your comments could be seen as quite hurtful to some of our staff, especially as they don’t align with your actual feedback during your stay.
Regarding the social activities. Yes we have activities every afternoon but we also have some in the evenings, where staff members attended. Please feel free to check our social media channels for proof of this, as there are times, dates, activity stated and students tagged in photos.
Some of these activities included during your time at the school: Bingo Loco, Music Bingo, Football Game night, Ice Skating, Cork film festival, Visiting the Christmas Markets, Bowling just to name a few.
We wish you every success with your continually improving English in the future, and we hope that this will help you to re-evaluate your stay with us. The team at ACET.
4 years ago Fantastic experience: I've been there in mid August 2019 and Martin was best English teacher I ever came across. I had so much fun out there and learned a lot. Accommodation provided by ACET (UCC Victoria Lodge) was also decent. I can surely recommend this school. P.S. Martin if are you reading this I would like to thank you a lot for great experience. I wish I can take next course in 2022.

5 years ago Positive experience: Mi experiencia en ACET es muy buena. El curso lo comencé durante el 2020 (covid-19), momento en que el Instituto debió adecuarse a una nueva modalidad de enseñanza. El profesor siempre estuvo presente y dispuesto a aplicar nuevas herramientas de aprendizaje. Durante la etapa de preparación de examen, la experiencia también ha sido buena, contemplando diferentes opciones según la evolución de las noticias. Por otro lado, ACET me apoyó y facilitó el inicio de trámites que fueron muy valiosos para la inserción en la comunidad. En general, es un Instituto que recomiendo por su profesionalismo y calidad de enseñanza.
5 years ago Fantastic experience: Je suis étudiante depuis plusieurs mois avec Acet et je recommande à 2000 % cette école. Tout le monde est très agréable avec nous et nous aide beaucoup. J'ai eu deux professeurs différents absolument parfaits ! Professionnels & drôles. En cette période de Covid il n'est pas facile de s'adapter mais Acet a très bien réussi à le faire !

5 years ago Fantastic experience: I LOVE ACET, I am doing general english there since October 2019. All the staff is lovely, the teachers that i had until now are perfect (Ciara, Oisin, Kevin, Camilla, Eva, etc), and we have a great mix of nationalities

5 years ago Fantastic experience: ACET is undoubtedly the best school in Ireland. It has excellent teachers and really trained. New books. Fantastic infrastructure. Commitment to teaching and student development. ACET exceeded all my expectations. I had no doubts about renewing my course at this school. Congratulations ACET. 6 years ago Fantastic experience: Buen centro para estudiar Inglés. Cada lunes puedes iniciar un curso con duración desde una semana hasta meses. Bien ubicado, a 5 minutos caminando al centro de Cork.

6 years ago Positive experience: Merkezi bir konumu var. Program yelpazesi oldukça geniş. Çocuklara yönelik yaz okulu, aile ile birlikte gelinen yaz okulları, genel ingilizce, sınav hazırlık gibi eğitimler var. Birçok ödül ve akreditasyona sahip. Bu okulda eğitim almak isteyen öğrenciler için İdealsas Yurtdışı Eğitim Danışmanlık olarak temsilciliğini yaptığımız okullara ücretsiz danışmanlık hizmeti sunuyoruz. Geldik gördük beğendik tavsiye ediyoruz.

7 years ago Negative experience: No era lo que esperaba para nada. Las clases no han sido lo.esperado. la segunda semana tuve la suerte de tener un profesor fantástico....pero me costó una semana entera conseguirlo. Por las tardes.....otra historia :( la.jefa de estudios es poco agradable y no está por la labor de ayudar a nadie ni de solventar problemas de ningún tipo. La familias.....ha habido de todo. Yo he tenido suerte pero otros compis no lo han pasado bien. Suciedad horrible y en algunos casos a más de media hora de autobús. El horario de los autobuses es limitado y el fin de semana aún más. No recomendaría en absoluto la escuela ni a jóvenes ni a adultos.
We appreciate your feedback and we have investigated the issues you mentioned. Firstly, in your placement test you scored 45/60 which placed you in a B2 level. You insisted that your level was C1 so in the second week, you were moved to accommodate your wishes, despite the advice from your teacher to stay at the B2 level to further develop your accuracy and correct a number of fossilised errors. I am happy to hear that you were satisfied with the second week.
Secondly, in terms of the afternoon classes, you seemed to have been more interested in methodology and pedagogy, when, in fact, you were booked on our intensive general English course. The teachers dealt with your demands as much as possible but we also had to consider the other students in the class who were very satisfied to pursue the course as it had been designed.
With regard to families and accommodation, you express your satisfaction, and it is not in your remit to comment on the satisfaction of others. In fact, the feedback from your colleagues was overwhelmingly positive. In all our documentation, we state that our families live in the suburbs and a typical bus journey would be between 20 and 30 minutes.
Our school has been in business for 45 years and we have an excellent reputation both nationally and internationally.
7 years ago Fantastic experience: I’ve been studying English in ACET for 6 months. In my experience, having studied English in a couple of different schools so far, I would like to say ACET is the best language school. Teachers are all very friendly and such good listeners and all staff is super nice and supportive. They set up various cultural events such as finding eggs on Easter, playing card games with tea and putting on costumes on st.patrick’s day & Halloween. All extra activities are really fun and I think all these things make students feel like home. And I met many classmates who are very satisfied with their courses here and took another course again. So I highly recommend ACET as a perfect language school to study English in Cork, Ireland.
