Fantastic experience: I have had two lessons so far with Tim, the director of GLC and the experience has been enjoyable, and entertaining, as well as linguistically and culturally instructive. I'm a language teacher too, so I've a good basis to judge. The classes are small and friendly, and there are also online options (one to one). Much better value than other bigger institutes. It was wonderful for me to find a well-pitched German class in my immediate local area to refresh my school German, which everyone should do (or learn it from scratch). There are such opportunities in German-speaking countries, for work and trade, as well as wonderful places to visit and live. If you want to combat the monopoly of English as a lingua franca for foreign business or travel then learn to converse with the people who live there - you'll have a much better experience! We need places like GLC!

Fantastic experience: I’ve been attending GLC for about six months now, and I can’t recommend it enough. Tim is an exceptional teacher his classes are always well-structured, engaging, and tailored to each student’s needs. He also organizes German film nights, selecting famous German films, which really helps immerse us in the culture while learning the language. Thanks to his teaching, I’ve made significant progress and enjoy the process of learning. GLC’s location is also very convenient, making it one of the best language schools I’ve attended.

Fantastic experience: I attended the GLC throughout my Leaving Cert and I believe it is massively influential in me receiving a H1. GLC’s focus on spoken German is invaluable in preparing you for the oral examination while their grammar obsession means you can excel in an area of the language most find challenging. Altogether it was a fantastic two years of learning and for anyone considering tutoring for German, I would wholly recommend the German Language Centre.

Fantastic experience: Excellent language school! I can't recommend GLC highly enough. I did a set of fifteen one-to-one lessons with Tim before a planned trip to Germany. Communication in setting up classes and throughout my time with GLC was very quick and clear. The classes were a great balance between conversation, grammar, role play and vocabulary exercises. The school has an active social side with German film screenings and meet-ups which is great. Tim arranged for classes to be held online once the COVID 19 restrictions were in place which worked very well for me and he was mindful of my work schedule etc. Danke GLC!

Fantastic experience: I've just finished my second term in GLC and am delighted to be beginning my third. The teachers are excellent and the coursework is a perfect balance between conversation, grammar, listening and fun. Everyone is super friendly and welcoming. Even after your first or second class you will be able to put together real sentences and understand what you're saying. Would recommend to anyone wanting to learn or improve their German language skills.

Fantastic experience: This is superb German school for anyone seeking to learn the language (beginner or advanced). I studied German up to first year University level but had forgotten so much over the years. I can honestly say the standard and thoroughness of these classes is superb. Students are provided with a huge amount of supplementary material too which makes it incredible value. The current semester was done online due to Coronavirus but the school is opening again at the end of June. It's great fun too and there's no pressure.

Fantastic experience: I would highly recommend German Lessons at GLC for both adults and children at any level. My children undertook German lessons to improve their language skills. They used board games and role plays to teach conversational skills and for written they did different exercises concentrating on the verbs and grammar in the classroom. I found them excellent and the classes were very well prepared beforehand and were tailored to the individual needs of my children.

I had absolutely no German to start with, and I was really set up with the basic grammar and toolset to survive my first semester in a German college, as well as starting a life in a new country; apartment hunting, grocery shopping and so on.

His notes are clear and concise which makes it easy to progress quickly. The school is very accessible on the green line luas, handy for me when I didn’t have access to the car!

Fantastic experience: I am taking private lessons with Tim in GLC in Leopardstown. Location wise it is really good. Tim is an excellent teacher, has a great sense of humour, which enhances the learning experience. They do film shows in German, and even though I have never been free to attend, they meet up in a local pub to encourage conversation in German, which also helps the ambience amongst the students.

Fantastic experience: I can't speak highly enough of GLC and Tim Weimann. I attended a number of courses at the school and enjoyed them hugely. The classes were smaller than those at other schools such as the Goethe Institut, meaning more opportunities to speak and discuss, more attention and guidance from the teacher, and a far better chance of progressing as a result. While there was a clear learning plan, there was also the opportunity for informal discussion that was organic and provided useful vocabulary for real-life situations. Tim was my first German-language teacher, and for me, he will always be the best. :)

On both occasions, the quality of the teaching and the qualifications of the teachers who are native German speakers were outstanding. The huge advantage of group classes is limited number of students so everyone can actively take part in the class, improving their language skills. The private classes are tailored to individual needs, meaning you’re learning at your own pace in the most efficient way.
