Mimi's French Classes

Fantastic experience: My daughter (8 y.o.) absolutely loves Mimi’s French! It’s been almost a year since she started it, and she still counts days until the Saturday’s class. I was recently surprised to see her reading a small book in French. Wow, amazing results!

Fantastic experience: My daughter has been attending online classes from Spain for almost a year, she looks forward to the clases and really enjoys them, teacher very friendly and clases are fun, i would recommend!

Fantastic experience: My 8 year old loves the online class and my 6 year old loves the in person class on Saturday mornings. Angie is great at making learning French fun and they both really enjoy all the games and songs. A great way to pick up French from a young age.

Fantastic experience: My 4 children attend Mimi’s French Classes and I cannot rate Angie highly enough. She is fantastic with all of the children and it is such a joy to see them being introduced to French culture through various themes and learning (and retaining) the vocabulary from her classes.

Angie’s knack for connecting with children is evident, as my son looks forward to each session with Angie. Fantastic experience: Our daughter has been going for about 1 year now and she absolutely loves it. Mimi and the team are very experienced, and bring lots of fun to the learning, its always a nice surprise to see the each week the creative activities taking place. Highly recommended.

Fantastic experience: My 2 daughters (8 and 11yrs) attended the online classes on Wednesdays. They both really enjoyed the classes and have adapted a beautiful French accent when practicing their various phrases. Angie makes the lessons interesting and fun and encourages all children to take part. Would recommed! I look forward to our next camping trip to France where they can put their learning into practice.

Fantastic experience: My daughter aged 8 years loves Mimi's French Classes. Angie's creative approach to teaching seems to fully engage and inspire the children. Each session is designed to engage the children in a fun and playful manner. My daughter looks forward to her weekly class and has expressed her desire to be able to speak French fluently acknowledging that this will take her a few years she is eager to do so. She was thrilled to be able to practice her French whilst in France this summer. I would highly recommend Mimi's French Classes so much so I may take up the language again myself.

Fantastic experience: I would highly recommend Mimi's French Classes! The classes are a fun and engaging way for young children to learn French. Both Héléne and Angie are very professional and the classes are well planned and resourced with plenty of hands on activities, songs, games and fun props and resources.

Fantastic experience: My daughter started Mimi’s at about 6 mo. The joy and sparkle that the class brought to our week is priceless. She’s 3 yo now and her week is measured by how many days there are left until it’s ‘Mimi Day’. The teachers both have an obvious love of children and of the French language, you can feel it fill up every fun packed singing, dancing and activity class. Fantastic experience: This is my 3 year old daughter's first term of Mimi's French class and she is thoroughly enjoying it. On her first day she turned to me and said "Mum, this is SO MUCH FUN!". She loves the songs, the crafts and the mix of French and English allows her to follow what's happening very easily. The repetition of words each week is also helping with her retention of the language. Every Saturday morning she can't wait to go, as she says "I love French class!"

Fantastic experience: I like Mimi's french class on site so much fun and learning. I tried the online and It was really interesting for kids and very helpful for parents during this lockdown: my sons enjoyed it very much and it helped me to control the screen time by the activity sheets and the story book. I highly recommend it

Fantastic experience: My daughter loved her French class. She doesn't have any background in French and was a little concern at the beginning, but after the first class she realized that she could participate it and had lovely moments this winter. So we decided to continue with.

Their Zoom lessons are fun and genuinely interesting; and my daughter and I are really looking forward to the live classes being back!

Fantastic experience: My 4 year old loves Mimis French classes and regularly asks if it's on today. He particularly likes the songs with actions, the arts and crafts, plus the games, like hiding from the witch, or finding the elf. He shows no reluctance in singing the songs himself and using French words inter-mixed with English, so it's a very postive and fun way to learn a language. I'm delighted with the online class as well, as the logisitics are much easier for our family. Bravo Mimi!

Fantastic experience: We absolutely love these classes, they are really fun and engaging. My 3 year old daughter looks forward to them each week. My husband is French and my daughter speaks to him only in French and these classes have given her new songs to sing with her dad and she really loves the stories as well. We’ve gone to the in-person classes before and recently finished a term online via zoom. Nothing but good things to say about these two ladies. ❤️

Fantastic experience: What a fun and interactive way to learn French. Genuinely surprised and delighted that my 5 year old was so engaged with it, the screen was no barrier to the personal element of the mimis classes that we love!

Fantastic experience: My two kids are taking mimi's French classes as we speak French at home. It is such a fun for them that it motivates the kids to continue learning French. Once, my husband read the book "Mimi va a la plage" to my 3-year-old daughter. When she asked me to read a book later, I opened the same book by coincidence without knowing that my husband already read it half an hour ago. She retold me the story, retelling every single word in the book so well that I believed that she knows how to spell and to read (My daughter is a genius I said to myself :ppp ). Then I was told that it is because my husband already read that book to her. At that moment, I realized that "Mimi va a la plage" is written in such a compelling and comprehensive way that her little brain memorise the story so easily and that is why she is able to retell it. Fantastic experience: I bring the little boy I look after to Mimi's class every Monday morning. He is the oldest boy in the class (just turned 3) and he still loves it. He has learnt a lot and I see him engaging more each week. The atmosphere is very relaxed and the teachers are warm and welcoming with simple creative ideas to keep the children's attention. Would really recommend

Fantastic experience: Mimi's has been a great experience for my 2 kids. Our eldest started out over a year ago and loves every minute of it on the Saturday morning class. It has really helped keep his French levels high. Our second child is now going to the Monday morning class, really enjoys it and is now talking some words in French and his pronunciation is flourishing.

Fantastic experience: Mimi's has been part of almost all my parent life! It's five years since we signed up when my youngest was a toddler and now I have three children attending their classes. There are a few reasons why we all adore Mimi's and why it's such a success story for French learning. Angie and Helene are a genuine dream team, teaching French in a wonderfully relaxed and entertaining way, while appreciating how challenging it can be to get a group of young children and babies to engage. They often bring dress up, arts and crafts, bubbles, and my kids' favourite, "la valise surprise", into their classes. This combined with songs, story time and learning with Mimi the monkey ensure a perfect mix. As I watch my children grasp the basics of French, it's lovely to hear snippets of it roll off their tongues perfectly and randomly. There really is a 'je ne sais quoi' about Mimi's French Class as we all get out of bed on a Saturday morning looking forward to it!

Fantastic experience: My daughter has been attending Mimi's french classes since she was 18 months old, she is now seven and has thoroughly enjoyed the style of learning, teachers are amazing and overall has been such a great experience, I would highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: Our son Sean really enjoys going to Mimis every Saturday morning. His Dad is French so for us, giving him exposure to the French language is very important. At Mimis Sean learns lots of French songs and stories all done in a fun and playful way.

Fantastic experience: Mimi’s French classes are such an interactive and fun way to introduce young children to French. My 3 year old twins really enjoyed the classes which are filled with songs, games & stories. Each class is taught with a theme and it is amazing how much French the children pick up in a short period of time. I can’t recommend Mimi’s highly enough and it is even suitable for parents who can’t speak French themselves but would like to introduce a new language to their child, parents learn too!

Our daughter has been going to the Saturday class for almost two years now. She loves Angie and Helene’s fun ways to learn French and she loves the crafts, songs and games. This class has built up her confidence in speaking French and she is alway coming out the class with a smile on her face.

Fantastic experience: Enjoyed several terms at Mimi’s Monkstown with my toddler. Helene and Angie are always enthusiastic and keep the children engaged with fun music, stories and crafts. Each week there was a new theme and it was clear that as well as being experienced educators, the teachers just love having fun with the kids.

My two children (aged 3 & 5) absolutely loved the classes & I love hearing them using phrases & songs they have learned in French. An excellent environment to introduce a second language to young children. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: My four year old loves Mimis french classes. Neither myself or my husband spoke French prior to the classes and we both feel we've picked up some vocab along the way. The classes are innovative and engaging for all, the French language aspect for us is simply a bonus. Every week has a surprise activity that follows the term's theme, I look forward to this as much as my daughter!

Fantastic experience: Great interactive, fun classes with plenty of songs, story time and amazing props. Lots of everyday vocab and phrases that you can incorporate at home. My 3 year old looks forward to it every week.

Fantastic experience: Both our boys have been attending the classes since they were around 4 years old and they really enjoy it. Our eldest has been going for the last 4 years. It has helped them expand their use of French immensely and it is not uncommon to hear them in the house singing the French songs that they learnt at the classes. On top of that, the teachers, Helene and Angie, are amazing at making all the children and parents feel welcome every time you attend. They are also very patient and willing to help the children with any questions they have. I would recommend to start at any age as children pick up the words very quickly and it's also a lot of fun for them as there is always activities designed around the new words that they do at each class. It's been a joy over the last few years attending and we are definitely going to sign up our other son to it once he is able to do so.
